Ball Control in Atlanta Soccer

One of the most important factors for success of an Atlanta Soccer player is the ability to control the ball.
Ball control is defined as the ability to manipulate the ball in preparation for a following touch. It is a fundamental skill needed in atlanta soccer. In fact, a bad first touch, and the ball play could already be handed over to the attacker. All the top soccer players are known for having great command over the control of the ball.
How to control the ball
Receiving and trapping are the two types of ball control. Receiving means directing the ball into a strategic location that is away from the body, while trapping is to stop the ball, and safely nest it from the opponent by stopping the ball at the feet.
Aside from control, it is also important to know when to receive, and when to trap the ball. Receiving is great when running into space. In order to do this, make contact with the middle or the top part of the ball. By tapping it lightly toward the direction you want it go to go, you can make it settle on the space you are eyeing on. The most excellent soccer players can settle the ball into an open space, with or without being under pressure. The reason for doing so is to provide an extra step for the defender.
Trapping on the other hand, is most often used when the ball is going too fast, and you are unable to direct it with your first touch. In this type of play, it is important that you are on your toes. The difficulty comes in when you’re stiff or flat-footed, on both cases, you will not be able to adjust the ball.
If possible, always practice controlling the ball with a partner. You can ask him to throw you the ball, and attempt to settle it with a single and clean touch before passing it back to him. If you lack a partner, you can use a wall and stand three to five meters away from it. Knock the ball against the wall, then trap or receive the ball when it comes back to you. With this exercise, you can practice both your control, as well as your passing.
